FCL Components to Demo Innovative New HMI, PCAP-Comparable RTP and More in Display Week Booth #233

SAN JOSE, Calif. – May 8, 2024 – In its first Display Week since the company’s Feb. 1, 2024, name change, FCL Components has unveiled an exciting line-up of touch panel demos and products to be featured in booth #233 at Display Week 2024, May 12-17 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in downtown San Jose, California. FCL Components will also be presenting at Display Week.

Show visitors will have the chance to try out FCL Components’ breakthrough new pressure-level detection HMI, Diverse Touch. This propriety output signal decoding technology (patent pending) can detect the force area the user is exerting on the screen; a light touch can be programmed to trigger one action, while a firm press will initiate a different response without any extra components.

Akio Nezu, FCL Components’ Marketing Manager, will be making a presentation on the new interface in a session titled, “Expanding Touch Versatility with a Brand New HMI,” at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, on the Exhibit Hall Center Stage. (Touch Technology Presentation Number F2.2.)

In addition, the company will demo single curved cover glass for multiple LCD panels, which is increasingly being used for automotive applications. This curved glass is available on its own, but can also be built to include touch panels (PCAP) and/or multiple LCD laminations for highly integrated and high-performance products.

Booth visitors will also be able to test FCL Components’ Flush Surface RTP side by side with PCAP panels to see how similarly the two perform. This lower-cost RTP technology provides the look, feel and input capabilities of PCAP with the unique benefit of enabling a barrier-free, glove-touch, non-water droplets disturbance input method.

FCL Components’ Feather Touch technology enables light input force with dual input gesture as well as Pinch, Zoom, Rotate, Swipe or Flick action detection, just like a PCAP. Its Flush Surface RTP design offers resistive technology’s reliable input capability as well as unlimited choice of input sources over other touch technologies.

Additionally, the company will be showing its line of PCAP panels with LCD lamination integrated into multiple displays, as well as several sizes of its Feather Touch-Long Life RTPs, including 22”.
