Fujitsu Component Expands IoT Front End Devices : Beacons and Mesh Units

Fujitsu Component Limited (Head office: Tokyo, Japan, President and Representative Corporate Officer, CSO : Masahiro Kinoshita) announced it has developed beacons and sensor embedded beacons correspond to Bluetooth® version 5.0, as well as mesh units and mesh sensor units using Wirepas Mesh technology, as an IoT front-end device, and is starting to provide samples and mass production from December 2019.

An IoT front-end device, which is use for asset tracking or collection of sensor data from environmental monitoring system, is essential for various IoT solutions. Fujitsu Component launches Bluetooth version 5.0 beacons and sensor embedded beacons, and mesh units/mesh sensor units that grant scalable, reliable and cost effective IoT solutions. All these products embeds ‘battery voltage notification function’, which notifying voltage drop of coin-cell battery, users may figure out the right timing of battery replacement.

Beacons/Sensor embedded beacons correspond to Bluetooth version 5.0

Fujitsu Component’s beacons and sensor embedded beacons corresponds to Bluetooth version 5.0 enables less power consumption for data communication, improvement of communication speed, expansion of LE advertisement’s communication capacity and number of channels compared with our Bluetooth 4.1 beacons. In addition, Fujitsu original command set enables various remote setting from a host device easily.

The beacon FWM8BLZ07 embeds secure advertise function. It enables encryption of advertise data and anti-spoofing by Message Authentication Code (MAC) calculation for a secured communication. This product is suitable for issuing coupons at shops, asset or human activity tracking.

The sensor embedded beacon FWM8BLZ07A equips temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, illuminance, 3-axis acceleration and sound level sensors by default.

Mesh units/Mesh sensor units correspond to Wirepas Mesh technology

Mesh units/Mesh sensor units have ability to construct a large scale network. Not only the scale, the Wirepas Mesh technology Fujitsu Component has introduced enables to create power saving, high-density network under autonomous network rerouting, even if the network environment changes or device failure occurs. Furthermore, security key provides secure operating environment throughout the mesh network.

Mesh unit FWM8BLZ07P is the best for wide-area asset tracking. It has wake-up function that allows to start communication only when needed, for a further energy saving operation.

Mesh sensor unit FWM8BLZ07Y embeds temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, illuminance, 3-axis acceleration and sound level sensors by default. It is good for massive scale of sensor data collection system.

Fujitsu Component will continuously develop IoT connectivity solution and devices for various applications for serving to customer's need.
