Fujitsu launches ruggedized 3-inch mobile printer, the FTP-638WSL201 (EMEA)

Built to withstand a variety of environments, from warehouses and logistics areas to restaurants and hospitality settings

Hoofddorp, The Netherlands – October 18, 2022 – Fujitsu Components Europe, B.V. has launched a new 3-inch mobile printer for use in environments where a regular mobile printer just doesn’t cut it.
With a rugged design, the FTP-638WSL201 printer is exceptionally strong and durable. It’s been designed to be exceptionally hard-wearing or shock-resistant, making it suitable for use in a variety of workplaces.

Ruggedized for use in all environments

Warehouses and logistic areas are not the best environments for delicate equipment. The same goes for restaurants and other hospitality areas. This is why Fujitsu’s latest FTP-638WSL201 printer has been designed for mobile use in locations where accidents are prone to happen.

Not only is it able to withstand a drop from a height of 2.1 meters, but the printer has been built with a water resistance rating of IP54. This means it will be protected against contamination from limited amounts of dust and other particles and as well as remaining operational when exposed to splashes of water.

More efficient paper handling

The printer is designed from a user and programmer point of view making the print not only easy to operate but also easy to integrate. The FTP-638WSL201 not only offers ESCPOS emulation, but also CPCL and ZPL emulation. This will help to adapt this printer in any application with a minimum effort.

Featuring a built-in LCD screen, the FTP-638WSL201 printer also offers users a higher level of insight and customization, enabling direct control of the communications interface and set gap or blackmark positions while allowing a closer monitoring of the printer status and battery levels.

Through its clever design the printer can also accommodate a larger than commonly used paper roll, providing a paper width of 50-80mm on non-fixed positions. This helps to reduce downtime for the user when it comes to replacing the paper roll as well adding needed flexibility on the field.

Connectivity and accessories

The FTP-638WSL201 boasts a variety of different connectivity options, including USB, Bluetooth, WLAN, and NFC.

Battery life performance of the printer will depend on the communication protocol used. However, users can expect the standard included battery to print a paper length per battery charge of 200m which equals 4170 tickets of 48mm length depending on several variables.
The FTP-638WSL201 printer also comes with a range of industry-standard accessories, including a carrying belt, AC adapter, USB cable, and battery. .
